BREAKING : Man charged with murder of Irene White

A 34-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Irene White at a sitting of Dundalk District Court this afternoon.

Anthony Lambe, a student from Annadrumman, Castleblayney, Monaghan has been remanded in custody.

The period of questioning was extended this morning by the Gardai before the appearance at court today at 2pm.

A crowd had gathered outside the courthouse on Crowe Street as the Gardai arrived with Mr Lambe.

He was charged with the murder of Ms White, on 6 April, 2005 at Ice House, Dundalk.

He was arrested in Monaghan yesterday morning and had been held for questioning by gardaí at Dundalk Garda Station.
