Chrissie Barron of Moorehall Lodge Ardee has been shortlisted for a second time in the Nursing Homes Ireland Care Awards.

Chrissie has been nominated for NHI Nursing Homes End of Life Care Award.

She is a former national Carer of the Year winner.

Caroline and Chrissie will now go forward to the prestigious national awards ceremony, which will be held in Dublin on Wednesday 16 November.

Over 300 nominations were put forward from people in communities across Ireland for the NHI Care Awards’ ten award categories.

NHI represents over 400 nursing homes throughout Ireland, and the fact that just 28 people have been shortlisted for the finals shows the scale of Moorehall Living’s achievement.

This follows on from 2015 when Moorehall Lodge Ardee’s Carol McLoughlin, Michelle Watters and Breege Conlon all took top honours at the prestigious national awards.

“We are thrilled to reach the final three in these categories – they are a great reflection on the unique care that all the staff at Moorehall Lodge give,” said Caroline, on behalf of the shortlisted finalists from the Moorehall Living Group.

“We are all very passionate about our work and are very proud of the unique and warm care environment we have created where people really flourish.”

Moorehall Living Chief Executive Sean McCoy was delighted with the news of the double nomination.

“This recognition on a national stage means so much to Caroline, Chrissie and all of us at Moorehall Lodge.

“We are proud that both our residents and staff think of Moorehall Lodge as home, and our whole team are embodiments of that ethos.”

Moorehall Lodge Ardee achieved an amazing treble at the Nursing Homes Ireland Care Awards in 2015 when Carol McLoughlin, Michelle Watters and Breege Conlon all took top honours at the prestigious national awards.

Carol won the national Nursing Home Director of Nursing/Person in Charge Award, and Breege and Michelle took the highest prize for the Nursing Home Community Initiative category.

And staff nurse Jackie Edwards made the final three in the Nursing Home Registered Nurse Of The Year Award.

This brought to six the number of Nursing Homes Ireland national awards won by Moorehall Living in the past four years.

A remarkable achievement by a remarkable staff and management.
