After Sybil and The Village Garden wow at the Galway Races

BLACKROCK ladies Aine Corcoran, of After Sybil and Elaine Cosgrove, of The Village Garden, wowed fashionistas at this years’ Galway Races, successfully fusing floristry and fashion to take centre stage in both The Irish Times and on RTE ONE with a one-off bespoke look.

The unique look which combined statement clothing from Aine and a sumptuous floral headpiece from floral designer Elaine was singled out by many media publications nationwide.

In particular RTE ONE posted a video newsreel of models Ellie and Niamh showcasing After Sybil's and The Village Gardens creations, a real achievement for Blackrock businesses demonstrating why Blackrock is becoming such a popular destination shopping village.

Elaine's Red Rose Floral Headpiece got picked up by The Irish Times standing out from the other hats at this years’ very glamorous Galway Races on Ladies Day. Elaine who is evidently passionate about flowers said,

“I was thrilled about The Irish Times publishing such a fantastic close-up photo of The Red Rose Headpiece but also about how they recognised that fresh flowers can be used to make wonderful headpieces, offering a real alternative to complete any special occasion outfit and so not just confined to being used for Brides and bridesmaids”.

Professional Stylist Aine Corcoran of After Sybil chose two Dresses by the same designer Ludmila Corlateanu, which is exclusive to her boutique, dressing Model and aspiring young designer Ellie Connolly and fashion Blogger Niamh McKeever known to her international followers as Lawless.

Ellie wore a blue gingham with white polka dot tulle long dress from Ludmila's S/S16 Collection which has a strong romantic peasant influence. Aine of After Sybil said,

“We wanted to embellish this ornate Riviera look with decadent gypsy accessories in Reds and Golds and introduce florals taking inspiration from the Italian Designers Dolce and Gabbana , with the delicate embroidered shoulder bag and headpiece bringing the look together’.

“We also wanted to do a fresh flower head piece, a signature look with D&G in their most recent collections so who better to create a magnificent headpiece than the incredibly talented Florist Elaine Cosgrove of The Village Garden in Blackrock, next door to After Sybil.

Aine and Elaine have collaborated before for fashion shows, making Head- Pieces for occasion and Evening Wear dresses and for the most admired Christmas window in the North East, with Elaine making the Stunning Xmas Tree Dress for After Sybil's shop window.
