Hill Street may be Dundalk's latest parking blackspot according Cllr Tomás Sharkey.
Residents of the street are increasingly hemmed in by a tidal wave of people parking on the street during the day, many of whom go into town to work for the best part of eights hours.
Cllr Tomás Sharkey has called on the County Council to examine the problems of parking at Hill Street in Dundalk.
"Residents have approached me and explained the great difficulties they are facing on their street.
“A large number of cars seem to park for the duration of the day at this location and residents find it hard to exit their street or find parking at their homes.
“Indeed there have been instances where residents have had to drive through back lanes to gain access."
"I am hopeful that the council officials will identify the problem of habitual parking in the area and offer solutions for residents,” the Sinn Fein councillor said.
