Charity partners of Dundalk 10k announced

The organisers of the Dundalk 10k are delighted to announce that this year’s charity partners of the event are ‘The Maria Goretti Foundation’ and ‘Rape Crisis North East’.

Money raised from the popular race will go towards two worthy local charities.

Speaking at the announcement in DkIT Sport, race organiser Derek Crilly of DkIT stated that ‘we are delighted to welcome two local charities as partners for this year’s race and we hope to raise significant money for both while also creating awareness of the wonderful work that both charities do’.

We hope that the people of Dundalk and indeed all of County Louth will get behind the race and help support the outstanding services that these charities provide’.

Paula Hanlon from Maria Goretti Foundation said ‘we would like to thank all involved with the Dundalk 10k for choosing the Maria Goretti Foundation as one of the charities to benefit from this year’s event.

As we are a relatively new charity in the area, events like these help to publicise our charity and make people aware of what our charity is all about.

We are a respite centre for children with both mental and physical disabilities currently catering for approx. 70 families in Co. Louth.

We would like to wish DkIT every success with this event and look forward to helping out on the night.

Director of Rape Crisis North East (RCNE), Geraldine Minogue said ‘RCNE are delighted to be a charity beneficiary in the 7th annual Dundalk 10k run.

This event is going from strength to strength each year and we would like to wish all participants well in their training and preparations.

Funds raised from this event will enable Rape Crisis Centre to move to more suitable premises where this vital service can continue to be delivered to the community.

Information on our services can be obtained at’

The race takes place on Wednesday 20th of April at 7pm, starting and finishing on the campus at Dundalk Institute of Technology. Registration for the event is now open and available from the website or directly from
