He then followed it with another fine point over the bar. Still no reply from Wolfe Tones who seemed to be struggling with the Westerns pressure.

Westerns continued with a fine goal from Andrew Kerr. Tommy Durnin rounded off the Westerns pressure with a free kick before Wolfe Tones could muster up some points -three in a row in.

Westerns made sure to stay ahead with some notable scores from Andrew Kerr, Brian Martin and Tommy Durnin ending the half 1-6 to 0-3 in favour of the home side.

The wind and rain continued to beat both sides up, and the supporters, as the game entered the second half.

The Westerns continued to show the great run of form by scoring five times without reply.

Fantastic goals from Aidan McGarrell and Seamus Peppard really elevated the Westerns under difficult weather conditions.

A penalty claim denied by the referee only spurred on Westerns to finish the game 3-13 to 0-7 winners. A deserved victory.
