THE Dundalk Democrat has teamed up with some of the best fans in the country, the Louth GAA Supporters’ Club.
At this year’s Louth GAA Supporters’ Club Awards night, The Dundalk Democrat will be sponsoring five awards which will be handed out on the night to eventual winners from our different panels of nominees.
Awards will be presented to those who have excelled in the club Senior, Intermediate and Junior Football Championships with a Player of the Year trophy in each category, as well as the Club Hurling Championship Player of the Year.
Along with this, a fifth award will be presented to the Louth Ladies Championship Player of the Year.
Over the past number of weeks, the Dundalk Democrat has been in touch with all clubs in the county, asking them for their input for the awards. The nominations have come from the clubs and they have all been whittled down to six nominees in each category.
However, this is where we hand it over to you, the supporters as it will be you, Louth GAA fans, who will cast your votes for who you think was the best of the best in 2010.
All fans have to do is select their favourite player in a respective grade and text DEMOCRAT2 along with the player’s name of your choice to 57000.
Please note you can only submit one player’s name per text, but multiple entries are allowed. For instance, you can text DEMOCRAT2 Paddy Keenan to 57000 multiple times, but entries such as the following - DEMOCRAT2 Paddy Keenan Derek Maguire are not allowed.
Entries are strictly limited to one player per text.
The Louth GAA Supporters’ Club Awards for 2010 will take place at the Fairways Hotel on Friday, March 25. tickets are available from Jimmy Myers at €50 on 087-2529043.
Music on the night will be provided by Henry Mac and band, with RTE’s Brian Carthy as the guest speaker. The awards will start at 8pm.
