There will be plenty on offer for foodies and families at this year’s Taste of Carlingford festival which is taking place next weekend, May 26th-27th
There will also be a number of indoor stalls at the Foy Centre, street music and plenty of entertainment in the village. There will be a children’s Crab Fishing competition, offering a prize for the most crabs, ugliest crab and the smallest crab.
There will also be facepainting and a kiddies treasure hunt. New activities include a ‘Stone Skimming’ competition and ‘Build a Sand (King John’s) Castle’ competition.
Carlingford Adventure Centre will be offering free kayaking in the harbour on Sunday, May 27 for anyone who would like to try out a water activity.
Festival-goers can participate in a variety of guided walks with experienced archaeologist guides from Setanta Tours leading the popular Maeves Gap Historical Walk. Carlingford Walking Tours will offer guided walks around the historical town.
A Taste of Organic Carlingford will also provide the opportunity to forage alongside expert Roisin Carroll and discover natural ingredients and substance.
In addition to late night entertainment in all of the pubs, an early music session will take place on Sunday with a Dawn Chorus recital at Carlingford Sailing Club at 7am.
