LOCAL hair salon Colorcode will be representing Ireland in London this September after scooping two major awards at the Redken NYC awards in Dublin at the start of the month.
The salon, located at Unit 4 of Adelphi Boulevard in the Long Walk, scooped the colour genius and style innovator awards at the ceremony in Dublin on May 4 and will now go on to the grand final in London in September.
Colorcode was founded in 2008 by Jenny McDonald and Clare O’Reilly and Clare told The Dundalk Democrat that all involved with the salon were delighted with the awards.
“Everyone was over the moon and we’re all looking forward to London now,” she said.
The competition was held in L’Oreal in Dublin before moving on to the Guinness Storehouse that evening.
Redken salons from all over Ireland competed on the day with Colorcode coming out on top in each of the two sections it entered.
Models for Colorcode at the awards were Claire Coleman and Grace Wynne with Clodagh Arthur and Maeve Hollywood of Exhale Essential Therapies acting as make-up artists on the day.
Grace-Ann Rafferty and Michele O’Sullivan were the duo behind the color genius competition win while Jennifer McDonald, Clare O’Reilly and Amy Martin worked on the style innovator category.
