More jobs for Dundalk

CLLR Jennifer Green, Cathaoirleach, Dundalk Town Council, is just one of many local dignitaries who have welcomed the the announcement that eBay Inc is to create 450 jobs in Dundalk.

Cllr Green said: “We are only six weeks into 2013 and to be celebrating the creation of 450 jobs and welcoming such an internationally renowned brand as eBay is absolutely fantastic for Dundalk.

“We can all be proud of the magnificent strides that Dundalk is making in attracting global brands to our town and in doing so, creating employment, both directly and also indirectly.

“I am sure that eBay, as PayPal has already shown, will be excellent ambassadors for Dundalk on a world-wide scale, and I remain optimistic that further market leaders will continue to look at Dundalk in the same light and with the same positivity that eBay has demonstrated by today’s announcement.”

Just as pharmaceutical companies are clustering in the West, technology companies are clustering here in Dundalk.

And just as Galway and Limerick universities have provided the people for the West’s growing industry, the roles of Dundalk Institute of Technology and the Louth Economic Forum in bringing these jobs to Dundalk has to be acknowledged.

They have helped in no small way in giving the town a new status.
