Competitive Feasibility Fund launched for counties Louth, Cavan and Monaghan

Minister of State, Mr Fergus O’Dowd TD announced the establishment by Enterprise Ireland of a €200K Competitive Feasibility Fund aimed at stimulating start ups and creating jobs and growth in the North East Region (Counties Louth, Cavan & Monaghan). Funding of up to €25,000 per project will be available under this initiative.

The objective of the Competitive Feasibility Fund for the North East Region is to assist a new start-up company or individual entrepreneur to investigate the viability of a new significant growth orientated business or proposition to be located in the North East Region. The aim of the grant is to provide the necessary information to enable the promoter (and Enterprise Ireland) to reach firm conclusions regarding the project’s viability and set out investor ready plans and financials associated with developing and commercialising the innovative product or service on international markets

The fund is open to applications from the ICT, Industrial, and Food sectors including the following sub-sectors: Internet, Games, SaaS, Cloud Computing, Enterprise Software, Telecoms, Lifesciences, Cleantech, and Industrial Products.

Full details of the Fund including the Application Form are available on the Enterprise Ireland web site: www.enterprise-ireland.com/nef

The closing date for applications is Tuesday 26 February 2013 at 6.00pm making the announcement, Minister O’Dowd said

“This Fund is directed at helping an individual entrepreneur or new start-up company to develop a high growth indigenous business that will create the jobs of the future we desire in the North East Region. I urge people across the counties of Louth, Cavan & Monaghan with strong job-creation potential to apply and compete for the funds available. In this way we can create high-growth, job-creating businesses in the Region”.
