A jobs update is set to be announced at the official opening of Prometric’s Test Development Solutions (TDS) operation in Dundalk this week

Louth Fine Gael TD and Minister of State for NewERA, Fergus O’Dowd, will join Prometric Inc President and CEO Michael Brannick, and IDA Executive Director Dermot Clohessy at the opening.

Prometric will host a welcome hall that features exhibits from the Táin Summer Festival, Junior Achievement Ireland, Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT), Regional Development Centre (RDC), Road Safety Authority, Dundalk Chamber of Commerce and Lafferty architecture.

An official ceremony will mark the occasion and a jobs update will be announced. Prometric is a provider of test development and delivery solutions.

The company expects its current Irish-based staff to grow by 100 to 150 jobs over the next two to three years as it focuses on bringing new methodologies, technologies and standards to improve test development economics while providing excellent employment opportunities in the North-East region.

Prometric recently teamed up with Junior Achievement (JA) Ireland to promote the value of staying in school and using an education in science, technology, engineering and mathematics as a foundation for a rewarding professional career.

Prometric, in addition to a e5,000 contribution to JA, organised a team of employee volunteers to visit Dundalk-area schools and mentor secondary school students.

Prometric’s Vice President of Test Development Operations Holly Dance said: “The connection between education and earnings can be profound, and our contributions to Junior Achievement are designed to inspire students in the greater Dundalk region to finish secondary school, aspire to lifelong education and develop highly skilled careers.

“We are excited about the opportunity to...connect with students in schools less than ten minutes from our Dundalk operations centre.” She added: “Since our arrival in Dundalk, last November, we have found a tremendous wealth of talent at our doorstep, including DkIT graduates.”

Prometric delivers tests flexibly via the Web or by utilizing a network of over 10,000 test centres.
