Carlingford Adventure Racing Club’s annual Endurance Challenge will take place on Saturday July 6 in and around the town of Carlingford and the surrounding Cooley mountains.
The ‘CLEC’ as it is affectionately known, is one of the most established adventure challenges in the Irish racing calendar, having first being held in 2001 and subsequently held every year since. The challenge has grown in popularity over the years and has become a firm favourite on the Irish calendar of events.
The event not only attracts participants from the north east, but from all over the country and indeed further afield. The race is widely known for its challenging course, professional organisation of the event by the organisers, and its post event celebrations at the local Carlingford Sailing Club.
“Carlingford Adventure Racing Club are delighted and looking forward to the 2013 event which is built firmly on the successes of the past”, said race organiser Johnny McCabe.
“By providing two race options on the day we are able to cater for both the newcomer and the experienced athlete, giving everyone the opportunity of achieving their own goals.
“I would advise anyone considering participating in the event to sign up sooner rather than later as online registration will close in two weeks and we are looking forward to another successful race in 2013.”
