DUNDALK pop star Sharon Corr is appearing in a new reality TV talent series as one of four coaches on ‘The Voice of Ireland’.

Sharon will be joined by fellow musicians and coaches Bressie, Kian Egan and Brian Kennedy, while Kathryn Thomas, former presenter of No Frontiers and Winning Streak, will present the show alongside Eoghan McDermott.

The first episode of the Voice of Ireland, aired on RTÉ One on Sunday, January 8 at 6.30pm. On Sunday evening last viewers saw the first group of hopefuls sing for the coaches in ‘blind’ auditions.

The four coaches were not allowed to see the singers. They were only to able hear them, as they chose who would be on their teams. There will be a total of five blind audition shows, which will be followed by three singing battle rounds.

The live performance shows are due to begin on March 4. The live shows will run for nine weeks, with the public helping to decide who stays in the competition.

The final four contestants - one for each coach - will compete in the grand final for a recording contract with Universal Music. Meanwhile, Sharon will be joining Ronan Keating as a special guest on his Australian and New Zealand tour later this month and in February.
