DUNDALK musician Andrea Corr has given birth to her first child, a baby girl called Jean, who is named after the singer’s late mother.
A message on her Twitter account announced the birth to her fans:
Andrea Corr @ACorr_Official
“Delighted to announce the birth of Andrea’s beautiful little baby girl Jean a few hours ago. Mother and baby are doing great.”
Andrea married financier Brett Desmond in 2009 and gave birth to their daughter in London on Saturday last (April 28).
According to a report in The Irish Independent, Andrea’s sister, Sharon, said there were “tears shed” when Andrea revealed her daughter would be named after their late mother.
Jean Corr passed away in 1999 of a rare lung disease. She was 57 years old.
