LOCAL singer/songwriter Stewart Agnew will be performing gigs in two of the county’s finest venues this weekend. Agnew, currently promoting his third album ‘Hello Bright Spark’, will take to the stage at the TLT Theatre in Drogheda on Friday before performing a hometown gig on Saturday in The Spirit Store.

Once again, the Doylesfort Road man will be joined on stage by his new look band – made up of local duo Justin Lawless and Ken Murphy, as well as experienced UK musicians Phil Wilkinson and Anthony Clarke. For his Drogheda performance, Stewart will be supported by Simon O’Driscoll, while Dundalk band The Four Kicks, who headline the George’s Quay venue themselves on Thursday December 29, will be warming up the crowd for him at the Spirit Store. Stewart insists he is looking forward to the two local gigs and revealed he has a few surprises up his sleeve for all those who attend. “These gigs are really like a round up of the year for me ahead of the release of the second single from Hello Bright Spark in January and the physical release of the album. “It’ll be great to be back playing with the lads again.

“I always get good support in Dundalk.” Tickets on sale now from The Spirit Store or from www.spiritstore.ie, at €12.
