A TEAM of young debaters from St Louis Secondary School successfully participated in second round heat of the Comórtas an Phiarsaigh Gael Linn on February 3.
Mairéad Ní Fhloinn, Aoife Nic an tSagairt and Aisling Ní hEochaidh, the senior debating team from St Louis have qualified for the Regional Final of Gael Linn’s Comórtas an Phiarsaigh to be held next month.
The national debating competition is organised annually by Gael Linn for second-level schools and over 150 teams are taking part this year. There were plenty of arguments for and against the motion ‘Is féidir linn ár muinín a chur sa chéad ghlúin eile!’ (We can have confidence in the next generation!).
