A DUNDALK man who transformed himself into a body-builder in eight short months has been named as the winner of March’s Member of the Month award at Aura Dundalk Leisure Centre.
Adam Muchegwa from Carroll Village was presented with the award in recognition of the remarkable efforts he has made to build muscle, lose fat and to improve his general fitness.
Adam, who is originally from Zimbabwe, decided to join the gym last year to improve his upper body strength and to compliment his daily routine of walking up to 20 kilometres.
“I used to walk up to 20 kilometres or a minimum of 10 kilometres a day but I needed something better to improve my upper body strength, to bulk up and to turn fat to muscle,” Adam explained.
“I replaced walking with gym work within a few weeks of joining Aura. The difference in my appearance now is huge. If you saw me last July I was a small man with a small pot-belly who was out of shape. Now I am in peak condition,” he added.
Adam achieved his goals by sticking to a three-day weights training programme which was specially designed by Aura’s fitness instructors to work every muscle in his body. The programme focused on strengthening and conditioning different core muscle groups each day.
