Up-and-coming designer, Molly Crilly from St. Louis Secondary School, Dundalk, showcased her fashion designs with class-mate and model, Mirna Maye at the Griffith College Reinvent Fashion Show which took place last Wednesday.

The Reinvent Fashion competition challenges transition, fifth, sixth year and FETAC students from around Ireland to construct a ladies outfit from second hand garments. Now in its fourth year, Reinvent Fashion 2011 was bigger and better than ever, with a record number of applicants taking part.

Course Director of the BA in Fashion, Jane Leavey said, “At Griffith College, we feel it is important to teach budding fashion students about the importance of looking after the environment and this competition showcases the stunning garments that are produced when old clothes are recycled.”

The winner of the competition will be announced at the Griffith College Creative Show on Wednesday, May 25th. For more information, go to www.gcd.ie/reinventfashionawards.
