The poet will launch her second poetry collection entitled ‘The Angels’ Share’ this Wednesday, May 23rd

Published by Doghouse Books, a firm in Co Kerry, this new book will be launched by Enda Coyle-Greene, the 2006 winner of the Patrick Kavanagh Poetry Award.

Barbara’s second poetry book received generous support from CreateLouth, the Louth arts bursary fund. Five years in the writing, the poems range all over the globe: from Antarctica and Mount Everest to the town of Dundalk.

Subjects are as diverse as parts of the human body to the many wonderful uses for whiskey, beer and music.

The collection’s title comes from the distillers’ term for the evaporation of whiskey as it matures in the cask.

As well as being a prize-winning poet in Ireland, Scotland and the UK, Barbara is well-known for her creative writing classes at Dundalk Library and DkIT. All are welcome to attend the launch.
