Bryan Knipe, St. Peter’s NS, Dromiskin, delighted his teachers by winning the Overall Prize in the Louth Local Authorities Primary Schools Road Safety Art Competition.

For not only did he win a €50 postal order, a 10 week course of swimming lessons in Aura Sports and Leisure Centre (one of the main competition sponsors) and a host of other goodies for himself, Brian also won €500 cheque for his school.

Bryan’s brightly coloured poster depicting the school wardens’ STOP signs in baseball caps and traffic light colours, along with catchy slogan, will soon be replicated and distributed to all primary schools in the county, thanks to the generous sponsorship of Dundalk Credit Union! Drogheda Credit Union was also a competition sponsor.

A close second in the poster section of the competition, Kristina Saroka, earned a prize of €300 for her school, St. Malachy’s Girls’ NS, Dundalk, much to the delight of Principal, Briege Galligan.

The colouring section was won by Kyra NicAoidha, Gaelscoil Dhún Dealgan.

The presentation of prizes was held in An Táin, Town Hall, Dundalk, on Tuesday, 20 December.
