Money still pouring in

THE money is still pouring in for the Dromin Fundraisers 60k cycle.

Last year over 20,000 euro was raised by the event for Ardee Hospice Homecare and this year a similar amount is expected.

If you haven’t left in your card yet, please don’t forget to do so at the nearest opportunity.

This is an extraordinary event with people from four to eighty take part.

Some of them covered the distance in two hours while others made it more of a stroll and a day out.

The cyclists were given refreshments at the Ferdia Arms in Ardee. This is a traditional stop thanks to the generosity of the Lynch family who run the Arms.

Among those taking part in the charity cycle were Brian Murray from Ardee and his daughters Gemma and Amy.

Also Brendan Ward, Harristown, Ardee with his son Spencer and daughter Tegan who were “riding shotgun” for him.

Andrew Woods, Stickillen, Ardee who is on holiday from Australia with his father Gerard also took to the road as did Emmet Ward, Harristown, Ardee and Brendan McMahon, Ardee.

Tony Ward, Bernard Ward and Ross Ward, all from Ardee, completed the course as did Ciara Ward and her aunt Caroline Ward both from Ardee.

Aisling Hughes, Latton, Castleblayney and Gerry Carney, Dunleer helped get the evening barbecue organised at the Village Saloon, Dromin, after the cycle.The barbecue was a huge success.
