A DUNDALK poet is inviting members of the public to attend the book launch of her debut collection of poetry at the Patrick Kavanagh Centre.
Originally from Fr Murray Park in Dundalk, Kathleen Maddy currently lives in Kilcurry. Her first book will be launched at the Inniskeen Centre on Thursday, October 27.
The collection entitled Gold Rays describes Kathleen’s own journey of healing and spirituality. According to her publisher, the book is attracting “considerable interest locally, nationally and internationally”.
“It might be Kathleen’s first book, but she’s already been signed up by specialist poetry publisher - The Poets Press,” said David Jones of The Book Producers.
Fiona Fay from Ravensdale, author of ‘Who Is God? You Are’ has made a glowing tribute to Kathleen’s debut poetry collection.
“This is a divine collection of poems bringing you to a place of warmth, stillness, solace, beauty, peace and presence expressed in words,” she said.
The book launch at the Patrick Kavanagh Centre will feature guest appearances by angelic healer Aidan Storey, author Fiona Fay, and local harpist Jimmy Johnson.
Popular Dundalk singer/songwriter Stewart Agnew has set one of Kathleen’s poems to music and this will be played at the book launch.
Further information about the launch is available from The Patrick Kavanagh Centre, Inniskeen. All are welcome to attend. ‘Gold Rays’ by Kathleen Maddy will be available in selected bookshops and online via www.writteninireland.com.
