DUNDALK musical group S.O.N.G is putting the final touches to its upcoming production of Chess.
Tickets for the rock musical, which is taking place in An Tain Theatre, Town Hall Dundalk from April 14-16, are now on sale.
Chess will feature the well known songs, ‘I know him so well’, ‘Pity the Child’, ‘One night in Bangkok’ and ‘Anthem’.
The 54-strong cast, who have been rehearsing since January, features Brendan Cleary as Anatoly, Sinead O’Callaghan as Florence, Nik Parks as Freddie, Leanna Carragher as Svetlane, Andrew Browne as Molokov, Dean Garland as Walter and Kylan Ross in his first leading role as The Arbiter.
There are 44 people in the Chorus aged from nine-years-old upwards, who will be accompanied by a nine piece band.
A successful 2010 saw the group win numerous awards for their production of Jekyll and Hyde.
Terese Dunne of S.O.N.G. said: “This musical is new to Dundalk audiences, but they will know a lot of the songs as they were all hit songs in the 1980s. The music is by ABBA Legends Bjorn and Benny with lyrics by Tim Rice.”
