A YOUNG Dundalk man is set to appear on TV3’s popular dating gameshow with a difference ‘Take Me Out’ on Friday, February 10 at 9pm.

Tony Broadhurst from Oriel Terrace told The Dundalk Democrat that it was a “nerve-wrecking experience, but it was also a bit of craic”.

Originally from Muirhevnamor, the 20-year-old is a former CBS student and currently works in IMC Dundalk. He auditioned for the latest series of Take Me Out in November last.

“I had to go to Dublin for the audition. It only lasted about five or ten minutes. I had to stand in a box and answer questions that were fired at me,” said Tony.

“I didn’t think I had much of a chance but I got a call three weeks later telling me the good news. A film crew came to Dundalk and filmed me at work and training in Dundalk Rugby Club.”

Tony travelled to The Helix in Glasnevin, Dublin on Friday, January 13 to film the Take Me Out episode that will air later this week.

‘Take Me Out’ sees women introduced to four single males; after which they have to decide whether they want to go out with them or not.

If more than two girls want to date the guy then he decides who he goes out with. The date happens immediately after the show.

“I got a date with a nice, genuine girl from Dublin called Serena. We just went for a drink after the show, but we met up again since and went on a proper date,” he said.
