Strictly raises e3,000

A CHEQUE for e3,000 from proceeds raised at the Strictly Come Dancing organised by Dundalk Chamber has been presented to the Rape Crisis Centre North East.

The President of Dundalk Chamber of Commerce Paddy Malone presented the cheque to Grace McArdle of Rape Crisis Centre NE.

Fifty-two local ladies and gents took to the floor and strutted their stuff on the night, which ended with a dance-off between five of the best couples.

Locals Stephen McBride and Amy Woods won the top prize in the Strictly Come Dancing competition held in Oriel Park last month.

The judges on the night were Senator Mary Moran, Ronan Wall, and previous winners, Grainne Hoey, and Shane Kelly. The dancers were introduced by Pat O’Shaughnessy who was MC for the night.

Other entertainment included performances from Paudie Breen, Carol McCourt and Starmakers Stage School. Second place was awarded to Alvaro Lucchesi, Restaurant No 32, and Oonagh Allport of Exitex.

Third place was won by Wojetk Gladysz Smyths Toys and Kelly-Ann O’Brien of Boylesports.
