Feeling Good Concert

THE corridors of St Louis Secondary School Dundalk are ringing to the sound of music this week as 350 students ready themselves for an upcoming concert.

The music department is putting on The Feeling Good Concert, which is due to be held in The Church of the Holy Redeemer on Thursday, January 26 at 7.30pm.

Music lovers are in for a treat as there will be four different choirs, a trad group and orchestra, three percussion performances and a few surprises thrown in for good measure.

“We believe everyone should be afforded the opportunity to enhance their learning with a live performance and it is wonderful to think that 350 girls will entertain their families and friends this Thursday,” said St Louis Principal Siobhán Greer.

The school will also have the opportunity to showcase the talents of two local musicians who themselves are past pupils of the school, Zoe Conway and Sinead McNally.

Zoe will perform with her husband, John McIntyre. The couple bring to the stage arrangements of traditional Irish music, compositions and songs, old and new.

Music Teacher Elaine Byrne said: “It is lovely for our girls to see such talented musicians sharing the stage with them, and to be encouraged to follow their own musical dreams.”

Tickets are available on the night at The Redemptorist and cost e5. Entry for accompanied children is free.
