Dundalk film-maker to have documentary aired on Setanta
Niall McCann
LOCAL Film-maker Niall McCann is about to have his first documentary aired on Setanta Ireland at 10pm on Monday.
The film, “An Exiles home in The Bronx” is an hour long documentary, which focuses on the New York GAA team, who along with London Irish, get a chance every year to play in the All-Ireland Football Championship, getting a preliminary qualifier in the Munster championship.
Originally From the Dublin Road, Niall was educated in the Christian Brothers School in town before studying locally in DKIT in 2000. He later went on to complete a Masters in Film at NUI Galway.
The documentary also features current Louth star John O’Brien who was playing with Boston at the time and played against the New York GAA team.
As the young director states. “The film follows their preparations as they get ready to face Roscommon in the All-Ireland last year. It charts the highs and lows of their experiences, but the film is not only about football.”
